Throughout his youth David enjoyed competing in many talent and singing competitions throughout the UK and abroad.
In 2001, at the age of 17, David joined DMTC for our production of “Me and My Girl”. He has since participated in most of our productions at GALA, taking parts in various shows such as “Peter Pan”, “What a Swell Party” and “My Fair Lady“ and the part of Rusty Charlie in “Guys and Dolls“.
His first Principal role was that of Sir Sagramore in “Camelot”. Since then David has played the part of Fred Barrett in our 2006 production of “Titanic” and Charles the butler, in our production of “Gigi”. David took on the role of the legendary Frank Capra in the show “Mack and Mabel”
David featured in our Noel Coward and Ivor Novello tribute concert. In 2009 he went on to play the part of Mendel in ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ in DMTC’s 100th year! In 2010 he took part in our production of “Hello Dolly”. He went on to play the part of the villainous Chauffeur in our production, the Northern Premiere, of “Grand Hotel”.
David returned to the stage in 2013 to celebrate the life and music of Richard Rodgers in our concert style production of “Some Enchanted Evenings”. This was a fantastic production, which gave David, and many of the company, a great opportunity to showcase their vocal talents centre stage. An opportunity they would get chance to repeat in the “Salute Our Heroes” concert at the SAGE Concert Hall.
Our current production, the Northern Premier, of “A Tale of Two Cities” promises to be an awe-inspiring marvel, fresh from Broadway, this multi award winning show is not to be missed.
David will be playing the part of Gaspard, a French peasant, whose tragic loss sparks the hate-filled revenge that follows.
“I’m really looking forward to playing the part of Gaspard. He is a complex character who starts off frustrated and at odds with the world around him, and then just de-escalates from there. He is involved in some emotionally charged scenes, I can’t wait to let loose on stage!”
