Shireen developed an interest in singing and dancing together with playing the piano and clarinet at an early age.
She has been involved with various groups for over 30 years, including; Newcastle Musical Theatre Company, West End Operatic Society, Sunderland Operatic Society, South Shields G&S Society and the Westovian Theatre Company. She was a founder member of the singing group Encore.
Shireen has played many leading roles with these groups and has appeared in professional pantomime. She has also had parts in the TV shows “Byker Grove” and “Spender”.
Shireen joined DMTC to play Madame Defarge in “A Tale of Two Cities”.
In real life she is a Specialist Nurse Practitioner working across South Tyneside & Gateshead, who likes to relax by getting away in her motor home with her husband Bob.
