Synopsis
Oliver! opened in London at the New Theatre on 30th June 1960 where it ran for 2618 performances over six years. The original cast starred Ron Moody as Fagin, Georgia Brown as Nancy and included Barry Humphries (Dame Edna Everage) as Mr. Sowerberry. In 1963 the show opened on Broadway with Clive Revill as Fagin and Georgia Brown repeating the role of Nancy. In 1968 it was made into one of the most successful musical films ever produced.
The show has been revived many times, in London and on tour, since the original run and many famous artists have appeared in it!
