Hazel started singing when she was 15 years old and she joined Newcastle AOS and other Newcastle-based groups.
She has had a lifelong passion for the works of Gilbert & Sullivan and was a founder member of the City of Durham Light Opera Group.
She has performed the majority of the principal mezzo-soprano roles in the Gilbert & Sullivan operettas and has also directed a number of shows from the G & S canon.
